Originally established in the early 1900s as a mining town known as Mineral City, Ponte Vedra Beach is now a hidden gem on the Florida coastline. Upscale resorts and beach clubs were first developed in the 1920s, and the community quickly established a reputation as a favored getaway for the wealthy elite. From incredible natural scenery to world-class golfing, Ponte Vedra Beach is a place like nowhere else.
With two championship golf courses, TPC Sawgrass is a major golfing destination. NINETEEN at TPC Sawgrass is an exceptional restaurant offering panoramic views over the 9th and 18th holes. Their menu includes delicious seasonal American and continental cuisine. On Sundays, NINETEEN hosts a special brunch for families. Many other exceptional restaurants are dotted around Ponte Vedra. Cap’s on the Water on the Intracoastal Waterway between Ponte Vedra Beach and St. Augustine serves ocean-fresh seafood in several indoor and outdoor dining spaces. The wooden deck at Cap’s offers great views over the Intracoastal Waterway, while their beachy oyster bar is a great place to grab a bite to eat in a relaxed atmosphere.
TPC Sawgrass is a world-class golfing destination that’s home to the headquarters of the PGA Tour and hosts the huge annual Players Championship. The Players takes place in March, but The Players Stadium Course offers incredible golfing all year-round. Golf Digest has named the course among the 50 best golf courses in the United States. With dramatic dunes rising to 40 feet high, Ponte Vedra Beach is an unforgettable sandy seaside stretch. With beautiful white sands that were formed from Appalachian quartz and ancient coquina, this gorgeous coastal destination was named by CNN as one of the best beaches in the United States.
